| ABOUT THE BAND |

Brimstone was founded in 2008 at the 2112 Rock School. The band's main purpose is to offer our most talented students the opportunity to further develop their skills in a structured band environment, coached by instructors with many years of experience in the music industry. The band's mission is, through playing live shows around the state, to inspire and encourage other young people to discover for themselves how rewarding learning to play a musical instrument can be. Brimstone's current line up includes: Alexandra (Alex) (16) / bass and vocals Brimstone's always growing repertoire is made up of mostly 1970's rock classics with a few early 1980's hits thrown in. Their current set list includes songs by such artists as: Fleetwood Mac, Free, Heart, Joe Walsh, Journey, Kansas, Led Zeppelin, Mother's Finest, Nantucket, Golden Earring, Sammy Hagar, Stevie Wonder, Ted Nugent, Toto and Van Halen. In early 2010 Nantucket, one of North Carolina's most successful and popular bands, selected Brimstone as their official opening act for select shows around the southeast. Nantucket has produced 8 albums and toured with such acts such as Bob Seger, Styx, Boston, Journey and The Doobie Brothers, to name a few. They also landed the highly coveted opening slot for the 1979 KISS "Dynasty" tour and the 1981 AC/DC "Back In Black" tour. Recently, they opened for Heart before 40,000 fans at the American Music Festival in Va. Beach. Brimstone will appear at select Nantucket shows beginning in May 2010, and running through out the summer and fall. |

Matt
Matt joined Brimstone in August 2008 when he was eleven. Multi-talented Matt plays lead and rhythm guitar, keyboards and contributes Lead and Backing Vocals. He lists his musical influences as Zakk Wylde, Eddie Van Halen and Mark Knopfler. When not playing music he enjoys participating in organized sports including football and wrestling.
Drummer Jimmy joined Brimstone in August 2009. Along with his drumming skills Jimmy also sings Lead Vocals. Playing drums since the age of 8, Jimmy is a big fan of drumming legends Neal Peart, Ryan Vikedal, Stewart Copeland and John Bonham. Quoting Jimmy, there's no greater feeling than seeing people move to the beat of my drums.
Angela Angela joined Brimstone in September 2009. Angela is the primary lead vocalist for Brimstone. She also contributes Backing Vocals and Percussion on occasion. Her favorite musical genres are Rock and R&B with Alicia Keyes at the top of her list of favorite artists. Besides singing, Angela's other main interests are cheerleading, dancing and writing.
Chris also joined Brimstone in September 2009. Chris plays most of the Lead Guitar parts in the band. He also plays Rhythm Guitar and Keyboards. Chris's musical influences include Eddie Van Halen, Slash and Zakk Wylde.
Leah joined Brimstone in September 2009. Leah, younger sister of Matt, brings to the band her abilities for Lead and Backing vocals. When asked who inspires her musically she states simply, "Michael Jackson!". Other interests in her life are Hip Hop, competitive cheerleading and dancing.
Alexandra (Alex) Bass player Alex joined Brimstone in October 2009. Alex is a long time student at the 2112 Rock School. After studying guitar here for more than a year, she agreed to take on the bass duties for Brimstone when the position was offered to her. She also contributes Lead and Backing vocals for the band. Musically, Alex finds herself inspired by bassists Justin Chancellor of Tool, the late Paul Grey of Slipknot, guitarist Randy Rhoads and vocalist Any Lee. Outside of music, Alex enjoys writing, drawing and volleyball. |
